The 2022 vintage was the third consecutive year of La Niña. It was longer, cooler and wetter than 2021 but worked in ideal combination from a regular budburst in late September, through a moderate summer and finally a long slow ripening phase finishing in mid April – just ideal. This saignee de rose was made from the bleeding of the Pinot Noir free-run juice after 24 hours on skins, barrel fermented and left on lees for three months before settling and bottling in September 2022.
